August 9th, 2012. I have had numbers in my head all day. It started with the sudoku this morning and hasn’t stopped. You see I always remember the number that completes the sudoku and this morning it was 7, my first thought was, hmm isn’t 7 a lucky number for most? Will I be lucky today? (no, I wasn’t) Then it got me thinking, what is my lucky number and why? SO this is what I realized: I tend to favour (and love) numbers that are divisible by three. The first thing I do when I see a number is figure out if it is divisible by three by adding the numbers together, for instance: How do you know a number is divisible by 3? Add all the numbers together: I realized today is my 222nd watercolour (WOOHOO) 2+2+2 is 6 and 6 is divisible by 3 and I love this number! But why do I love numbers divisible by 3? Why do we have the “lucky numbers” that we do? I don’t know? Could I love things divisible by 3 because I was born on the 24th (also adds up to 6) of September (9th month?)? Probably not? But yes, if you were wondering… I love the number 24!
A Watercolour a Day
I am curious to see what a year of my life looks like in 365 (366? is 2012 a leap year?) watercolours. And so! I embark on this journey to paint a watercolour a day for every day of 2012, starting January 1st, 2012.
